The First Pass Under Heaven

Located in Shanhaiguan District, the First Pass under Heaven is China’s best of pass followed by Juyongyuan Pass and Jiayuyuan Pass. Built in Hongwu Rein of Ming Dynasty (1381) by General Xuda, the pass together with the town is the only complete military defense system so far remained along the Great Wall, long been known as “the first pass along the Great Wall safeguarding the capital as a lock ” Today ,the town is one of the world’s cultural heritages and a 5 A scenic area. Extending 0.1 square kilometers, the scenic area include the Arrow Tower, Jingbian Tower, Muying Tower, Linlv Tower, the Lotus Park, the Jar City, the First Pass Square and 1350-meter long Ming Dynasty Great Wall.
