Temple of Lady Mengjiang

Temple of Lady Mengjiang, once known as Chastity Temple, is the only well-kept temple in China in honor of Lady Mengjiang, built in accordance with “Lady Mengjiang’s wail causing the Great Wall to collapse”, one of China’s 4 best-loved legends. First built earlier than the Song Dynasty and rebuilt in Wall Rein of Ming Dynasty(1594), the temple includes one next to another the Gate, the Beil Tower, Lady Mengjiang Shrine, Kwan-yin Shrine, Husband-seeking Rock, Dressing Pavilion , and Mengjiang Garden that presents the full legend of chastity. Qing Dynasty emperors visited the temple and left valuable cultural remains.
